About the ARTIST: Smt Rani Khanam is a sensitive and astute interpreter of the Lucknow Gharana and has been performing Kathak professionally for the past thirty years. She was trained by renowned doyens of Kathak, Ustad Fattan Khan, Smt. Reba Vidyarthi, and Pt. BirjuMaharaj. She performs a unique repertoire of Sufiana poetry (Qalam) and Islamic verses. Besides, she works with differently abled artists and is known for using classical Kathak to amplify and address critical issues of equality & social justice for Indian Muslim women and women in general.
